The "Schueberfouer", founded in 1340 by Jean l'Aveugle as a trade fair, was transformed in the course of the nineteenth century into a carnival that today is one of the most important in Europe. The exhibition presents the history of fairground activities and technical changes in the rides, illustrated by nostalgic carousel animals, boat swings or roller coaster cars. Historical photos, postcards, posters and film sequences allow you to discover the entertainment of yesteryear. The Schueberfouer with its custom of "Hämmelsmarsch" is part of the national inventory of intangible cultural heritage.
