Whether in the city forest Langst or on the Werse in Differdingen's twin city Ahlen, in the Venner Moor in Münsterland, on the Aasee in Münster, on the west beach of the Darss peninsula or in French Brittany: photographer Rudolf Rademacher has had numerous remarkable and accidental encounters ( Münster / Ahlen) in the past years. Encounters with trees that only nature can bring about in their peculiarity and whimsicality. Beech and pine trunks, for example, that nestle as close together as if they wanted to unite. Gnarled branches that are intertwined, or trunks that have grown so bizarre that they form openings through which you can see or even reach.
"I'm not looking for these trees, I encounter the trees," says the 61-year-old, who works as an editor for an Ahlen newspaper, describing the chance encounter between photographer and nature. For him, it is miracles that nature has created. That is the title of his third solo exhibition (after "Wandering along the Baltic Sea" and "Coasts of the Baltic Sea and Brittany") because "Trees - Encounters with Nature".
