Retrospective Camille Lambert (1874-1964), painter of virtue, joy and pleasure.
A new exhibition is being prepared at the Gaspar Museum:
Camille-Nicolas Lambert was born in Arlon on May 8, 1874, and will follow an artistic education in Liège and Antwerp. Throughout his Liège period, he was also enrolled in flute and music theory lessons at the Royal Conservatory of Liège.
His artistic production will be, throughout his career, important and multidisciplinary. Alongside his drawings or etchings, many canvases with varied subjects: seascapes, landscapes, portraits, religious scenes His palette is colorful, his style is similar to Post-Impressionism and symbolism, But remains classic and does not seem to be influenced by the artistic movements of his time. Which partly explains His discreet presence in the history of art.
