The iron giant, what is this imposing nickname?

With its chimney located at a height of 82 meters and its nacelle at 71 meters, the Parc du Haut Fourneaux U4 in Uckange lives up to its name! Everything is "gigantic", from the ground to the highest point of the town's old factory. It is also one of the last blast furnaces in the region still standing and above all open to the public. Class, right?

Are you curious to discover its history, during its activity in the 1960s-1980s? That's good, visits of all kinds are organized to retrace the past of the steel complex. Free, guided tour, by night, by day, by treasure hunt, or even with audio guides in several languages, it's up to you to choose your route.
We strongly advise you to take a guided tour, well yes, if you didn't know, Mécilor's guides are themselves former employees of the site, nothing better to discover all the secrets and anecdotes of the place!

Once your visit is over, you can complete your getaway by taking a trip to the Jardins des Traces. Throughout the season, the U4 blast furnace park offers a great program of events, such as the U4 festival with shows, activities and other unique gems. NIGHT VISITS
Nocturnal visits allowing you to appreciate the work of Claude Lévêque “All the Suns” are possible on Saturday evenings, from 7 p.m. to midnight (from June 15 to August 31).
