Talk – Erik Kessels: Storytelling with vernacular photography
Over the past 20 years, Erik Kessels has become a reference in the field of 'found photography'. Instead of shooting new images, he collects pre-existing ones to create unique compositions. As an artist without a camera or lens, he uses photography as a ready-made tool, sampled and re-contextualized. In this talk, Kessels will discuss how ordinary can become extraordinary through image re-appropriation and address the current role of imagery and perspectives beyond mere consumption. Erik Kessels, a renowned artist, curator, and communication designer, will lead this event.
