The uniform of the federal contingent is inspired by the models of the Royal Dutch Army but is manufactured in Luxembourg. The local production of uniforms aims to revitalize the textile industry in the Grand Duchy, a tradition dating back to the 18th century. The production and supply of large quantities of fabrics pose a significant challenge for small businesses in Luxembourg, Wiltz, Esch-Sauer, Vianden, Echternach, and Fels. After a few years, production meets military standards and continues beyond the dissolution of the hunter battalions until the end of the 19th century. Uniforms, shakos, fabric samples, portraits, and lithographs trace this development. In German, free of charge.
