An impressive fortification system, now almost completely disappeared since the Treaty of London of 1867, protected the Kirchberg and the fortress city. Designed by engineer Vauban during the siege of 1684, a reinforcement project was implemented. The museum offers guided tours of these fortifications, lasting two hours.
