Nurtured by the songs of Oum Kalthoum, Ibrahim Maalouf paid tribute to her with an album released in 2015. Designed in the style of the Egyptian diva's pieces, as an extensive suite allowing ample room for improvisation, this project celebrates a woman and an artist with an immeasurable legacy. It is anticipated that the trumpeter, like her, will achieve the legendary tarab with the Philharmonie audience, a state of intense communion shared by performers and attendees.
