Doc & Talk | Marching in the Dark @ Ciné Sura
How does togetherness empower women, and where does their resilience stem from?
On May 14 and 15, Openscreen invites you to watch the documentary "Marching In The Dark" by Kinshuk Surjan. It tells the story of a group of women in Maharashtra, India, who share a common experience—they are widows because their husbands are among the thousands of farmers in the state who have committed suicide in the past two decades.
What else do these women face besides grief and daily struggles, such as managing work, caring for their children, and household responsibilities?
"Marching In The Dark" is about resilience and empowerment, made possible through community support where these women feel heard and understood.
Join us in exploring Sanjivani's struggle in "Marching In The Dark", and witness her determination not to give up.
