Dig Deep is proud to present our 5-week Scripted Theatre Course, culminating in a class presentation for family and friends on July 28th!
In this course, we will analyze, rehearse, and perform scenes from acclaimed, well-crafted plays, bringing fully developed characters to life. You will explore each character's motivations, journey, and emotional arc to better understand them and contribute your own interpretation. We will focus particularly on the complex relationship between the two characters in the scene and how their interactions influence the emotional landscape and drive the narrative forward. With the help of your instructor, you will develop the skills needed to embody a character and their connections to others, creating a rich and compelling scene. We will also explore how to keep scripted performances fresh and spontaneous and prevent them from becoming stilted. In addition, we will work on stagecraft, script research and decoding, vocal skills, and the physical embodiment of a character.
Whether you're a budding artist, looking to flex your creative muscles, or simply want to try something new, this course offers a safe and stimulating environment to explore acting. It's a great opportunity to gain confidence, improve your public speaking skills, develop your creativity, and connect with your voice and body, as well as meet new people and relax after a day of work. No previous experience is required.
The presentation will take place at the end of our last class, on Monday, July 28th at 8:15 pm in Rocas, and the students will perform the scripted scenes they have been working on. Each student can invite their friends and family, and admission is free.
Good to know
I've never done acting or any type of performance before, is that okay? Absolutely okay, all experience levels are welcome
Do I have to buy a ticket in advance? Booking in advance is advised so we know how many people to expect, as the course may not go ahead if numbers are too low
Do I have to attend every week? That would be helpful but please get in touch if you know you will definitely miss a date and we can work something out
What language is the workshop in? English
Do I have to be a native speaker or fluent? Definitely not
Do I have to pay for the course in full all at once or can I pay in instalments? If you would prefer to pay in instalments please contact me and we can work something out
