A woman and a child meet in Rio's train station. He has never attended school. A former teacher, she supplements her income by writing letters dictated to her by her illiterate clients. Sixty years separate them, and an accident brings them together. This initiatory journey follows Josué, representing the future, and Dora, who is fleeing a cynical past. Far from the cities, the film unfolds vast horizons in Scope, blending a portrait of Brazil's sertão—between poverty and superstition—with a moving melodrama about compassion.
