From a Buddhist perspective, letting go means becoming aware of one's expectations, the obstacles to our 'well-being,' in short, dissatisfaction. This is what the Buddha refers to in the Second Noble Truth.
Moreover, letting go also involves releasing the ideas we hold about 'ourselves': understanding the mechanism of the ego, the roots of suffering, and finding, through the practice of zazen, the source of a different way of being.
Beginners are welcome.
