The uniform of the federal contingent draws inspiration from the models of the Royal Dutch Army but is manufactured in Luxembourg. The local production of uniforms aims to revitalize the drapery tradition of the Grand Duchy, which dates back to the 18th century. The manufacturing and delivery of large quantities of textiles posed significant challenges for small enterprises in Luxembourg, Wiltz, Esch-sur-Sure, Vianden, Echternach, and Larochette. After several years, production met military standards and continued beyond the dissolution of the hunter battalions until the late 19th century. Uniforms, shakos, fabric samples, portraits, and lithographs illustrate this evolution.
