Why are we the only animal species to write, compose music, or walk on the moon? What drove humanity to create such complex tools, while all other living species use what nature has provided for them? After "Cliquez sur j’aime" in 2014 (Jury Prize, Mans-Cité Chanson) and "Toi tu te tais" in 2018 (Aux Actes Citoyens Festival Award), praised by both the audience and the media, Narcisse's latest creation brings together a slam poet, a guitarist, and about twenty hologram artists, aiming to reconcile us with our species by reflecting on what humanity still means. Featuring text inspired by writings from numerous humanistic scientists, Narcisse uniquely transitions seamlessly between prose, slam, song, poetry, and rap. The show narrates the extraordinary journey of humankind: the invention of language, early voyages, the beginnings of societal living, the discovery of music, the evolution of imagination, the creation of writing, and the birth of science. Contrary to popular belief, it is not primarily our intelligence that has defined who we are. "Humans" enjoyed success at the Avignon Festival in 2023 and 2024.
