Contempt, released in 1963 and directed by Jean-Luc Godard, is a landmark work in 1960s French cinema. Based on Alberto Moravia's novel 'Il disprezzo,' the film portrays Fritz Lang, a director filming 'The Odyssey' at Cinecittà. During production, his American producer Prokosch hires screenwriter Paul Javal to revise the script and shows interest in Camille, Paul's wife.
