The Centre des Monuments du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg (CML) is organizing, on the occasion of the European Heritage Days, four historically themed night-time guided tours of the Beaufort Castle site. (Mainly in Luxembourgish, with the possibility of offerings in German and French.)

These scripted tours will invite participants to (re)discover Beaufort Castle in an immersive and fun way. The tour will begin with an original welcome provided by a colorful character: the castle guardian, played by a guide. The latter will warn visitors: while they are free to wander through the mysterious ruins, they should not be surprised to come across certain characters whose memories are preserved in the stones. Visitors will follow the guardian through a route illuminated by candles and electric lanterns, punctuated by stops at the site's major architectural points of interest (coats of arms, cross-windows, ornamented vaults, etc.). The guardian will comment on the architectural evolution of the castle, from the Middle Ages to the 17th century, while introducing, along the way, various historical figures. These iconic figures—played by guides and amateur actors from the Theaterfrënn Beefort association, depending on their availability—will enrich the visit by sharing anecdotes, life stories, and legends related to the castle. Among the characters envisaged: a knight errant at the entrance to the site, an exuberant noblewoman, a boastful mercenary, an ambitious baron, a French traveler, and even a visionary entrepreneur. At the end of the tour, the caretaker will escort visitors to the exit, sharing with them his ideas for the future of the castle. Before leaving, visitors will have the opportunity to extend this convivial moment by having a drink at the reception bar.
