The opera "The Child and the Enchantments" by Ravel tells the story of a capricious child who, after a tantrum, mistreats the objects and animals around him. Ultimately, by showing compassion in caring for an injured squirrel, he earns the forgiveness of the enchanted creatures, celebrating love and reconciliation.
