Flight 149: Hostage of War (British & Irish Film Festival Luxembourg)
A documentary film that explores the 1990 British Airways Flight 149 hostage crisis, featuring interviews with hostages, politicians, Kuwaiti resistance members, and people who knew Saddam Hussein. Flight 149 was permitted to land in Kuwait for refueling during the Gulf War. Iraqi forces seized the plane and took the passengers and crew hostage for five months; they were used as human shields in military and chemical plants, and endured mock executions, rape, and near starvation.
