Ian De Toffoli and Enrico Lunghi - Literary Tuesdays, Léa or the Theory of Complex Systems / Chronic
For an evening of shared readings: Ian De Toffoli, playwright and literary researcher, and Enrico Lunghi, art historian and writer, invite you to an exploration of their respective universes. Ian De Toffoli reads excerpts from his critically acclaimed work, “Léa or the Theory of Complex Systems,” published by Actes Sud. This powerful text intertwines the fate of a young Luxembourgish woman with the opaque mechanisms of oil multinationals and the challenges of climate change. Confronting a system she deems destructive, Léa becomes radicalized while realizing she is part of it. In his latest work “Chronicles of a World Before,” Enrico Lunghi describes a post-apocalyptic world where, following the inevitable depletion of its resources, human society has collapsed. Survivors—or their descendants—wander through an absurd environment, saturated with useless objects, attempting to unravel the mystery of their peculiar destiny.
