Since 1954, the Sainte Barbe Committee in Tétange has organized the traditional Saint Barbara’s Day celebration on December 4th to honor all those who worked in the iron mines of the mining basin. Since December 1, 2022, this tradition has been listed in the national inventory of UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage, and a candidacy for inclusion in the international inventory is underway. The Municipality of Kayl and the Sainte Barbe Committee are pleased to invite you to participate in this tradition, which holds significant symbolic value for our region. As every year, blasting shots will be fired in honor of the former miners on December 4, 2024. We appreciate your understanding for this event of high symbolic value.
