Few authors have succeeded, through their writings, in creating a world, a mythology. H. P. Lovecraft is one of them. Included in the Pléiade collection, his work, woven with impressive fantastical universes, has been adapted into role-playing games, video games, films, and science fiction comics for a century. Loosely inspired by one of his short stories, the tale takes us near the city of Arkham in 1989. A meteorite crashes close to the Gardner family's farm, who helplessly witness the gradual degradation of the surrounding nature. Disturbing phenomena multiply until the day Ammi Pierce, the Gardner's neighbor, reports their disappearance to the sheriff's office. The police investigation stalls, and three years later, Doreen Harper, a young FBI special agent, returns to the scene of the tragedy to attempt to solve the mystery of the 'strange days'. What happened? The fear of the unknown—and what it makes of us—is at the heart of this investigation full of suspense and unsettling poetry.
