Exhibition and guided tours - Luxembourgish language(s)
The Europa Experience is currently hosting the traveling exhibition “Luxembourgish Language(s)”. It invites visitors to explore the language(s) of Luxembourg. The title is deliberately ambiguous and aims to reflect the country's complex linguistic situation.
The exhibition addresses the following topics, among others: multilingualism, linguistic varieties and dialects, history, linguistic evolution, and the Luxembourgish language in literature and the media. More specifically, the following aspects are highlighted:
What does official and societal multilingualism look like in Luxembourg?
What is Luxembourgish and how does it function today?
How has the Luxembourgish language evolved over the last 200 years?
In addition to audiovisual material, the exhibition also features interactive elements that can be accessed via smartphone.
