On Sunday, October 26, Schluechthaus will open its doors for a double event: one hall dedicated to a clothing swap and another to a book fair.
Whether you’re hunting for great deals to enrich your wardrobe or your library, or looking to give a second life to clothes and books that have been with you for years, this event is the perfect occasion to buy, trade, or pass things on!

Participation requests can be sent between September 24 and October 8, 2025, to the following address: [email protected]. Requests sent outside this period will not be considered. First come, first served!
Practical info – Second Hand Book Market
The book fair offers an ecological and economical alternative to buying new books. Taking part in the book exchange at Schluechthaus is simple: just drop off the books you’d like to part with on Saturday, October 18, from 2 pm to 6 pm, or Sunday, October 19, from 9 am to 12 pm at the Schluechthaus.
SORTING GUIDELINES FOR DROP-OFFS
Books accepted – please bring only items that meet all of the following requirements:
Timeless or still relevant content (novels, comics, coffee-table books, essays, children’s books, etc.)
Solid binding: no loose pages or broken spines
Clean pages: free of water stains, food marks, or mold
Well-kept interiors: little to no highlighting, notes, or stickers
No unpleasant smell: no tobacco, dampness, or musty odor
Tip: if you’d happily gift it to a picky friend, it’s perfect for the book fair!
Books not accepted – to ensure an attractive selection and avoid waste, the following cannot be accepted:
School & academic: textbooks, workbooks, supplementary school material
Reference works: dictionaries, encyclopedias, thesauruses, atlases, directories
Language & learning: language courses, grammar books, conjugation guides
Press & periodicals: magazines, journals, catalogs, newspapers
Outdated guides: travel or practical guides with expiration dates (travel, IT, etc.)
Institutional copies: books marked as belonging to another library or book box
