A child walks along a seaside shore. Around a dune, they discover an abandoned boat half-immersed. Attracted, intrigued, they circle it. Over the course of a meeting and a tide cycle, a wreck is brought back to life. Max Legoubé chose the art of puppetry to bring Cécile Dalnoky's black-and-white images to life, aiming to invite viewers to dream and imagine. On stage, two puppets embody the drawings projected by an image organ's crank, and a musician-sound artist immerses us in a moving and sonic landscape. Without words, 'A Boat' tenderly, sensitively, and poetically evokes childhood's ability to create worlds, give dignity to abandoned objects, the desire to explore the unknown, and the excitement of embarking on an adventure.
