Valerius Art Gallery - 1, place du Théâtre, Luxembourg
Exhibition from October 29, 2025, to November 29, 2025

Guided tour in French by Lou Phillips and Gérard Valerius.

Julien Saudubray (*1985, Paris) lives and works in Brussels. Graduating from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 2012, his artistic practice is characterized by extensive experimentation with the parameters defining painting as an autonomous medium. Rejecting the rigid classifications of canonical painting, his work blends abstraction, figuration, and materiality.

His creations undertake systematic deconstruction not to annihilate but to reconfigure and build a dynamic critique. Saudubray minimizes subjectivity, emphasizing mechanical gestures that reveal interactions between various pigments and materials. Highly diluted paint layers induce visual instability; each layer partially erases or overlays its predecessors, creating a dense interpretative structure.

Bärbel Aubert will host the Friends of Museums for this Art Lunch.
