Since 2019, Emilie Škrijelj and Tom Malmendier have performed as the duo Les Marquises. Representing two resonant islands—one percussive and impulsive, the other inventive and scratch-driven—their organic sound sculpts dynamic sonic landscapes, an unforeseen acoustic jungle. They invite Mexican sound artist Angelica Castello for a novel trio. Now based in Vienna, Austria, she explores composition and improvisation with cassette tapes, radios, and a Paetzold contrabass flute. Her sonic work and compositions delve into fragility, dream realms, and the subconscious.
