For her debut as director of the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía, Patricia Guerrero, the flamenco dancer and choreographer from Granada, chose to conjure the spirit of Mariana Pineda, protagonist of Federico García Lorca's eponymous drama. This early work by Lorca (himself a native of Granada) is deeply romantic, powerfully expressive, and witty. Accompanied by an exceptional cast, including Alfonso Losa, with whom she co-directed the play Alter Ego in 2025, and set to original music by Agustín Diassera, Dani De Morón, and Sergio 'El Colorao', Patricia Guerrero brings to life a vibrant and electrifying Pineda, a woman of Granada and the world, a proud heroine who sings of love and freedom, and Spanish to the core. A theatrical poem in dance, where every act and every gesture is imbued with emotion. A show that embodies the very essence of flamenco.
