Lesson 2: "Filming" by Priska Morrissey (professor in film studies, University Rennes 2)

This cinema lecture in French features excerpts from films. Priska Morrissey explores the history, functionality, and ergonomics of the movie camera, and the influence of its tools and instruments on cinematographic techniques. Using specific models and films, the evolution and impact of the camera are discussed. Interlude: "snack & drink".

The talk is followed by a screening of the film: Russian Ark (Russia-Germany 2002, directed by Alexander Sokurov, vostEN, 96’).
