The exhibition presents a selection of Luxembourgish artworks, from the classical modern era up to the turn of the millennium, including many recent acquisitions and donations. The period before 1945 is represented by the "Secessionists" Kutter, Rabinger, Schaack, and Klopp, as well as Ernest Wurth and Adrienne Baudoin-d’Huart. Paintings by Henri Dillenburg and Nico Thurm, several series of images by Wil Lofy, collages by Roger Bertemes and sculptures by Pit Nicolas illustrate an artistic output oscillating between figuration and abstraction. From the 1950s/60s, more female artists are represented (Jacqueline Hentges, Coryse Kieffer, Triny Beckius). From the 1990s to the early 2000s, paintings and graphic works by Moritz Ney, Marie-Paule Feiereisen, Annette Weiwers-Probst, and Renée Oberlinkels, as well as a sculpture by Bettina Scholl-Sabbatini, can be admired.
