TASTE, meaning "Transforming through art, science and technology," is a new platform initiated by the University of Luxembourg/Espace_Cultures. The first talk of the TASTE series: "On art, nature and technology" brings together scholars, artists, and stakeholders from the creative sector to discuss how recent technological developments have informed their interdisciplinary practices, while critically unpacking the myth of "artificial new."

In recent years, the rapid advent of generative AI has changed how we work, create, and research. Prompt-based commands now produce new content quickly and easily. Many funding programs and partnerships invite collaboration between researchers, scientists, and artists using AI, illustrating its integration into academic and artistic frameworks.
These tools and techniques are not entirely new but can be conceptually traced back to the postwar era. Collaboration between scientific thinking, computation, and design is not a recent trend. Since the 1960s, theorists such as Herbert A. Simon highlighted the potential of collaborative workflows between designers and scientists via computers. Institutions such as Ars Electronica or MIT’s Media Lab have shown how artistic research has fostered technological innovation since the 1980s.
The TASTE talk series is co-developed by Anouk Wies and Nathalie Kerschen, with support from Amis de l'Université and Fondation Loutsch-Weydert.
