Moby, American producer, DJ, and singer/songwriter, is one of the most important, successful, and outspoken figures in electronic music. His eclectic career has spanned many rock and pop styles. In the 1990s, his success helped bring techno into the mainstream and inspired a new generation of DJs. Moby is also recognized for his Christian beliefs and for activism in environmental and vegan causes. He first broke through with the single "Go" in 1991, and his acclaimed 1995 album Everything Is Wrong. Play in 1999 became a global hit. Throughout the 2000s and 2010s, Moby moved between house tracks, pop/rock songs, and ambient collections, releasing various collaborative projects and retrospective albums through to 2024.
