Spring celebrates its arrival in the ceramic workshops

21st Open Pottery Day – March 14 and 15, 2026
Luxembourgish ceramists invite the public to discover their world.
Every year, on the second weekend of March, Open Pottery Day (Tag der offenen Töpferei) takes place throughout Germany. This event was first organized in 2006 in a few regions. By 2025, the event had expanded to the whole of Germany, and for the first time, potters from Luxembourg were also present.

In 2026, for the second consecutive year, the Luxembourg participants open the doors of their workshops under the motto "LOOK, TOUCH, BE AMAZED".
Five Luxembourg workshops and more than 500 German workshops are delighted to welcome many visitors for a journey of discovery through the rich and varied world of ceramics.
Visitors are cordially invited to discover the quality and beauty of handcrafted ceramics, to be inspired and to become acquainted with an ancestral yet resolutely contemporary craft.
The program includes guided tours of the workshops, demonstrations on the potter's wheel and other modeling techniques, as well as firing demonstrations, including the spectacular raku firing. Participatory workshops are also offered at some locations.
Meetings, exchanges, and convivial moments are at the heart of these days. Of course, handcrafted creations will also be available for purchase.
Special offer from the "In Schale geworfen" bowl, as beautiful as it is varied.
Many participants are taking part in this action by creating a unique bowl especially for this weekend, a true collector's item.
Whether it's everyday tableware, hand-thrown or hand-modeled artistic pieces for the home and garden, exclusive jewelry, or experimental sculptures, handcrafted ceramics are more fashionable than ever. Their diversity, quality, and durability appeal to an ever-growing audience. They enhance our everyday lives.

Thus, the Open Pottery Day has become an unmissable event for many interested parties, marking the beginning of the new 2026 ceramic season.
On March 14 and 15, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., visitors will be able to explore the workshops in Luxembourg and Germany.
