Exhibition "The Artistry of Easter Eggs in Romania" in the Knight’s Hall. The exhibition and workshops are organized with the support of experts from the “Dimitrie Gusti” National Village Museum in Bucharest.
A symbol of the universe in ancient times, the egg was the primordial element of biological regeneration. With the advent of Christianity, the ancient symbolism of red eggs was complemented by new meanings, highlighting the miracle of the Resurrection as hope for the regeneration of life and the good of humanity.
The great richness and variety of creation found in the art of egg painting and decoration in Romania is surprising from one ethnographic area to another and even from one village to another.
