Of Lilies and Linen. Jugendstil, Handicraft and Art in Luxembourg
Guided tour dedicated to Jugendstil. Inspired by nature, this style was intended as an expression of its time, aiming to create greater beauty in everyday life while recognizing traditional craftsmanship. In Luxembourg, this period coincided with key developments in the art scene, such as the founding of an art association in 1893 and the creation of the École d’Artisans in 1896, where artists and craftsmen were trained together. The tour highlights innovative Jugendstil works, especially applied arts, previously unseen design drawings and historical photographs, offering new insight into Art Nouveau in the Grand Duchy.
