As part of the exhibition "Anatomies of Use", Soft Dissection is presented for the first time in Hisae Ikenaga's solo exhibition Anatomies of Use at KIOSK. Soft Dissection is a short fiction film, a collaboration between visual artist Hisae Ikenaga and filmmaker Paula Onet, created with non-professional performers. The film explores the layered memories of the former anatomical theatre at the KASK School of Arts in Ghent, a place connecting medical education and artistic practice. Enigmatic ceramic objects are produced, examined, and drawn, evoking historical methods of anatomical study. The film was shot in the Cirque Auditorium of the KASK School of Arts, a space that mirrors the KIOSK venue.
