After the opening of the Luxembourg fortress in 1867, the government decided to prioritize the urbanization of the former plain front. After agreeing on the road network to be developed, it sold several plots for the construction of villas. In 1871, when landscaper Edouard André created the park, these plots had already been sold for residential buildings. During our walk, we will see who built these villas, who lived there, and how these remarkable homes have blended into the public promenades.
