In Age of Content, the new creation by (LA)HORDE, the virtual world becomes a space of multiple realities that we experience and inhabit alongside the physical world. The three artists, Marine Brutti, Jonathan Debrouwer, and Arthur Harel, tell the story of how, starting with an initial glitch, an individual is propelled into another reality, leading them to confront other versions of themselves. Age of Content draws on the expression of bodies in the digital environment, from avatars to the choreographic challenges of TikTok. Like a doomscroll—the endless scrolling of videos on social media—the movements are linked to themes from jazz dance and musical theatre. This performance explores the intertwining of our real and virtual lives and questions the transformations of our identities and social interactions in the age of digital overabundance.
