Guided tour photo exhibition: WOMEN IN WAR by LYNSEY ADDARIO at the Museum, Esch/Alzette
Created especially for the museum as part of the Women in Conflict series of historical and artistic exhibitions, the WOMEN IN WAR exhibition highlights, from a female perspective, the fates of women and children in conflict zones. This retrospective offers an immersion into more than twenty years of work by the American photojournalist Lynsey Addario. Through a selection of powerful images, visitors are invited to explore territories and populations affected by conflict in Afghanistan, South Sudan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, and Ukraine. The exhibition addresses themes central to the photographer: the status of women during wartime, motherhood in conflict areas, survival in crisis regions, dignity and resilience in the face of destruction, violence and death. Admission to the temporary exhibition also grants access to the permanent exhibition.
