Luxembourg’s Summer in Three Acts: Pilgrimage, Harvest, and Wine
This conversation, the third event in the Bourgmeisterin: Fireside Chats series supported by the Ministry of Family Affairs, Solidarity, Living Together, and Reception of Refugees and co-produced with ARA City Radio, explores how summer in Luxembourg is shaped by community rituals: Sprangpressessioun (Echternach Procession), Léiffrawëschdag (Harvest Festival in Greiveldange), and Fiederwäissen (early autumn new wine). The talk looks at what these traditions mean today and their impact on local identity and belonging. Hosted by Julia Khalyavko, founder of Bourgmeisterin, and joined by Dutch heritage scholar Joëlla van Donkersgoed. The discussion will be followed by a social gathering with drinks and catering.
