Since the early 2010s, Chastity Belt have worked tirelessly to make a name for themselves as one of the most memorable bands in the Pacific Northwest rock scene. On records like No Regerts and I Used To Spend So Much Time Alone, the band honed a plucky yet playful formula.

Today, Chastity Belt announces her upcoming LP, Live Laugh Love, due out March 29, her debut album on Suicide Squeeze Records. The album's first single, Hollow, highlights a dreamlike side to the project's sound. It pairs shoegazey chords and straightforward vocals with a melancholic guitar line. The track was brought to life in the throes of the pandemic, and the lyrics draw on themes of being stuck and waiting. Waiting for a sign/Wasting time/Breathing in the hollow air/Nothing is there, Julia Shapiro sings over a loose groove on the chorus. Hollow comes with a video that pokes fun at influencer wellness culture, playing into the record's cheeky title.
