Passing of the Olympic flame and collective relay
The City of Metz will have the honor of welcoming the Olympic flame on June 27. To shine the energy of sport and the collective, the City of Metz is committed to the Olympic spirit by uniting everyone around shared values. Discover the different actions carried out to celebrate the Olympic Games.
The course
On June 27, the Olympic flame will make its first appearance in Moselle at Sarreguemines, then it will head towards the glassmaking site of Meisenthal, before heading towards Forbach.
The flame will then join the country of three borders (Apach in Moselle, Schengen in the Grand Duchy and Perl in Germany).
The flame will then continue its journey to be relayed to Thionville (departing from Yutz) before going to the Robert Schumann House in Scy-Chazelles.
At each stage, the flame will travel a section of 1 to 2km, before going to the next stage without being visible during its transfer.
The flame will end its crossing of the Moselle in Metz, under a guard of honor of 24 people, and will remain there for the evening which will be full of activities planned at Place de la République.
The flame bearers designated by the City of Metz now selected, Sylvain Kastendeuch, Jean-Marie Donatello, Marie-Jo Brunet and Sarah Bouktit join the big family of Eclaireurs, all those who do and live sport on a daily basis and who will make the Paris 2024 Torch Relay a success.
