Conference-visit as part of the "Sunday Architectural Walks" organized by the Dräi Eechelen Museum. Unlike other fortified cities, Luxembourgers had not demanded the departure of the Prussian garrison. The treaty of May 11, 1867, ending the fortress, posed a huge challenge to both the capital and the country. What identity and future to reserve for a city without a port, soil wealth, or significant demographic reservoir, particularly in the context of an approaching Franco-German war? The visit reveals the transformation of the fortress city into a national capital, a place of political and economic decisions.
