In the forest, a little elephant is born. His name is Babar. His mother lovingly watches him grow until the dreadful day a hunter kills her. Babar then seeks refuge in the city, where he is taken in by an old lady. But soon, Babar yearns to return to the jungle. This project is based on Poulenc's magnificent score, a music evocative and full of poetry. The combination of shadow puppetry with its suggestive power and the music profoundly highlights the sensitive and tender aspects of the original story of Babar.
