Curators Dr. Bernhard Schmitt (Diocesan Archives of Luxembourg) and Boris Fuge (Lëtzebuerg City Museum) will guide you through the exhibition, explaining the origins of Luxembourg's Our Lady Octave using archival materials, artworks, and sacred objects from the 17th and 18th centuries. In 1624, a pilgrimage to "Our Lady of Consolation of the Afflicted" emerged amidst confessional conflicts, wars, and epidemic dangers, subsequently attracting numerous pilgrims from beyond Luxembourg's borders and becoming an enduring part of the country's spiritual and cultural heritage.
