The exhibition takes visitors on a journey through iconic cities and regions of Italy. Featuring ancient idealized landscapes and urban scenes from various eras, all artworks are derived from the Gallerie d'Italia collections.

Visitors' exploration begins in Naples, showcasing romantic views of the Gulf of Naples and ancient architecture of Pompeii. Following this are "Capricci" - imaginative compositions of ancient ruins and pastoral landscapes from the 17th and 18th centuries by Italian, Dutch, and French artists. Magnificent Roman squares painted by Gaspar van Wittel also feature prominently, followed by views of Florence and Milan that highlight the evolution between history and modernity. The final stop is Venice, with its captivating vistas painted by artists like Canaletto.

The journey concludes with an interactive room where visitors can digitally create their own "Capriccio," accompanied by children's activities.
