Atelier couture: Reprisage in-visible
Sewing and repairing garments were, until the invention of the sewing machine in the mid-19th century, purely manual tasks. The production of soldiers' uniforms was also carried out manually, making the process lengthy and expensive. Garments were repaired instead of being discarded, as is often done today. Is your favorite outfit damaged? Bring it along to participate in an interactive workshop where you'll learn new mending techniques. You'll discover more about the history of sewing while patching your clothes in a decorative and appealing way, allowing you to use them for many more years. No sewing skills are required to participate in this workshop.
