Vespers of a Confessor and Piano-forte Concerto by Mozart
Featuring the voices of the Choir from Metz Cathedral (under the direction of Christophe Bergossi) and Daniel Isoir, a specialist in piano-forte, with his Ensemble "La Petite Symphonie."
This orchestra of soloists, experts in playing on period instruments, revives a practice and sound highly appreciated in Mozart's time.
Written in C major, the piece includes 5 psalms and concludes with a Magnificat. These vespers are termed "of a Confessor" as they celebrate a saint "non-martyr" (Saint Jerome), who confessed and proclaimed his faith throughout his life.
