Projection "Apolonia, Apolonia"
Film series "Unframed"
Artists challenge the limits of perception, altering how we see and experience the world. "Unframed" features three films exploring creation as a transformative force. Each film focuses on an iconic artist breaking artistic boundaries through radical acts:
- Anselm Kiefer: reimagining history from remains of destruction, overlaying materials and memory into monumental landscapes.
- Apolonia Sokol: navigating the fluid space between identity and artistic survival on canvas.
- Nam June Paik: turning technology into an expressive medium, redefining the interplay of image, time, and language.
These films move beyond documentation to become integral parts of the creative process, offering fresh perspectives on art practices beyond traditional frames. This series is part of the Squatfabrik artist residency, where cinema becomes a space of invention, integrating art and cinema in new visions.
