Les Théâtres de la Ville continues its collaboration with choreographer Serge Aimé Coulibaly and this season presents the three winning pieces from his biannual Africa Simply the Best competition, which recognizes the best African solo choreographic dance creations. Luxembourg audiences have the opportunity to see the poignant piece La Quatrième, by Togolese dancer and choreographer Koffi-Kegou Afiadegnigban, an intimate solo that explores the issue of polygamy, a profound reality in many African societies. The second winner is Aziz Zoundi, with his piece Chute perpétuelle, an introspective solo about grief. Banbali 100 fin, by Malian artist Kadidja Tiemanta, exploring resilience in the face of illness, closes this evening dedicated to the creativity, innovation, and originality of Pan-African culture.
