We sometimes forget, but the piano is indeed a string instrument. This provides all the more reason to let it harmonize with other family members, as many composers have done by writing piano quartets: works typically featuring a violin, a viola, and a cello surrounding the keyboard. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Gabriel Fauré notably engaged in the practice, as Kit Armstrong will demonstrate. Accompanied by three friends, the young prodigy invites you to an intimate evening centered around the piano.
